MTCC was incorporated by a direct order from the President, on 18 December 1980. MTCC's 52.5% is held by the Government of Maldives represented by Ministry of Finance & Treasury, 7.5% is held by Maldives Shipping Limited and 40% is held by general public of Maldives. The principle activities include Trading, Contracting activities, Marine Transportation, Renting and Auctioning.
