Overview

MÅLBAR has developed a highly advanced and user friendly climate screening tool for the furniture, interior and design business. The tool guides furniture brands and manufacturers towards reducing the climate emissions from their products. The tool also serves as a new business standard for instant measuring of climate footprint securing a higher commercial benefit from sustainable initiatives for the individual company, and ultimately providing a higher level of transparency in the business for the benefit of the environment and the end consumer. The screening tool is digital and can be used by anyone. It contains a huge amount of data on materials, production methods, packaging, transport, production waste and energy mix from almost every country in the world. This means that all the data about a product, that is not available will instead be based on conservative estimates, and the tool will still provide a useful result, that indicates where in the product's lifecycle the main emissions lie. However, the more the user knows about a product, the more precise the result will be.
