Vedanta Resources Plc., is a London Stock Exchange listed, globally diversified natural resources company, operating across the following core business sectors: Zinc, Lead, Silver, Copper, Iron Ore, Aluminium and Power,Oil & Gas. Geopraphically, our operations are centered in India, Sri Lanka, Zambia, Namibia, South Africa, Liberia, Ireland and Australia with employee strenth of over 28,000 people. The Zinc International division of Vedanta manages the following Zinc Operations; Black Mountain Mining in South Africa, Skorpion Zinc in Namibia, and the Lisheen Mine in Ireland. The Lisheen Mine commenced underground mining in 1999. The milling facility at The Lisheen Mine was commissioned in 1999 and the Backfill plant in 2004. The facility is scheduled to cease production of lead and zinc concentrate at the end of September 2015 and completion of Backfilling operations by mid February 2016. The Lisheen Mne assets will be disposed of to pre-qualified Purchasers through a process of sale by competitive tender. We now invite Expressions of Interest from vendors, service providers and contractors who have experience & expertise of working on large mining and milling closure projects and are willing to work with us in the winding down and sale of the assets.
