Overview

Lipscomb Jones is a dynamic and growing RIBA Chartered Architectural practice with a focus on providing affordable and sustainable architecture for everyone. Building Information Modelling (BIM) is at the heart of the practice and allows us to combine technology with new working practices to improve the quality of the delivered product, whilst improving the reliability, timeliness and consistency of the service we provide. Our in house Engineering department work along side our Architects to provide a one stop service to our customers. BIM provides a digital prototype of the actual components being used to construct a building; examining geometry, spatial relationships, geographic information, quantities and properties of building components (for example manufacturers’ details). BIM can be used to evaluate the construction sequence and help eliminate potential issues, reducing waste. It can be used to produce accurate visualisations which aid us in assessing the visual effect of a design proposal. The practice can offer a full architectural and engineering services service with over 70 years of combined experience in design and construction at all scales. The team itself is currently, made up of 3 RIBA Architects and 1 Senior Architectural Technician , 2 Technicians, 1 Civil and Structural Engineer and 2 Administrators. With a vast range of experience working on small scale residential projects to large commercial developments and one off buildings both locally and internationally. Our team has experience working on prominent public projects, along with various community projects in collaboration with Plymouth University School of Architecture and we are ready to help you with your project. With ties to many local contractors, joinery workshops and specialist consultants, as well as a wealth of construction experience, the practice is well positioned to deliver a full architectural service from feasibility studies to post- completion reviews
