Our mission is to Champion and Nurture a Creative and Vibrant Community! Liberty Village BIA, founded in 2001 as the first commercial based Business Improvement Area in Toronto as well as Canada, represents the 600 member businesses and over 11,000 employees located in our unique and dynamic campus-style community on the west side of the downtown core. The leading creative and tech companies, along with the most diverse and engaged entrepreneurial incubators across the City call Liberty Village “home” and have ignited unprecedented growth. With over 80 Business Improvement Areas in Toronto, the Liberty Village BIA is renowned as a “model” which enhances the businesses and property owners of Liberty Village, creating a safer, more attractive community setting, promoting economic development within the BIA boundaries and advocating on behalf of our members. Recognized for our “Green” activities and environmental initiatives, we are a testing ground for new ideas, approaches and in forward thinking innovation. Our annual Give Me Liberty Signature Event (held annually in June) attracts thousands of participants as is recognized as an event of community significance by the City. As a member of TABIA (Toronto Association of Business Improvement Areas) and the OBIAA (Ontario Business Improvement Area Association), the Liberty Village BIA is active in advocacy at all levels lead by a diverse group of premier property owners, developers and business owners and operators.
