Overview

Level Up Gosport - charity no: 1199682 - has been established for almost 12 years, supporting young adults aged between 18 - 25 years to gain self-respect and confidence via volunteering within the community for local charities, organisations and at local group activities. Many of the vulnerable young adults (members) it has supported via community volunteering have gone on to secure employment. We have an 80% success rate. However, in July 2022 we decided to change our name and constitute as an independent charity/CIO with the new name of Level Up Gosport (LUPG). The majority of the members that LUPG supports have a mild to moderate learning (hidden, neurodivergent) or physical disability; or have mental health challenges like low self-esteem or high anxiety levels. We offer the members, via community volunteering, the scaffolding and support to gain confidence and self-esteem - enabling them to achieve self-worth and confidence. Over the last 12 years our members have created an excellent reputation within the community and many have been able to move on from LUPG into sustained employment. LUPG wants to consolidate on this success and improve their chances further, by creating a work experience programme through volunteering, that will target them gaining the skills that will enable the members to go on into meaningful or sustainable employment.
