Legal informatics is a discipline at the intersection of Law and Computer Science: How do legal requirements affect information technology? How can IT solutions simplify or even re-shape legal work? How can interdisciplinary collaborations ensure that both disciplines are considered when developing IT systems? The Chair of Legal Informatics, headed by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Christoph Sorge, works on numerous research questions in these areas. The main focus is on issues surrounding data protection and IT security.
