Overview
Since its founding in 1992, LOF Adaptive Skiers has helped individuals with disabilities “soar beyond the boundaries” through adaptive sports. History: LOF Adaptive Skiers was founded in 1992 when Executive Director and Founder Joel Zeisler helped a Vietnam Veteran re-learn to waterski after a rocket-propelled grenade claimed his vision in the war. This veteran not only re-learned to ski but he also went on to win gold medals at both the World and US Disabled Water Ski Competitions. The experience was so transformative that Joel decided to form LOF Adaptive, one of the first water ski organizations for individuals with disabilities in the country. Today, LOF Adaptive Skiers is a national leader in the field of adaptive waterskiing.
