Overview
The Lead Me Back Foundation is a registered Non-Governmental Organization under Zambia's Ministry of Community Development and Social Service. It was established in 2021 to contribute to the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically 3 and 4: Good health and Well-being and Quality Education, respectively. Under Quality Education we run a project called “Guardian for a Year” in five districts in Zambia. The project helps vulnerable children in rural and marginalized Zambian communities have access to quality education unhindered by providing them with school books, backpacks, shoes, stationery, and uniforms. We believe quality education is not just about filling up classrooms, it is about pouring into minds and it starts with taking care of the seemingly minute details. In our two years of operation, the organization has partnered with Individual Donors, Zambia National Commercial Bank, Liquid Intelligent Technologies, and the Ministry of Education to implement this project. A total number of 3,510 books, 24,100 pens and pencils, 2000 backpacks, shoes, and full school uniforms were donated in ten (10) schools. Under Good Health and well being to conduct Open Air Clinics in rural areas to provide quality health care to marginalized communities and complement the Zambian government’s efforts to provide equitable access to cost-effective, quality healthcare services as close to the family as possible. Our community Open-Air Clinics uses the health belief model to empower community members with needed information about Non-Communicable Diseases and the importance of being compliant with their medication. All the marginalized communities we have worked with so far have been empowered with knowledge of non-Communicable diseases and received quality health care near their homes, which has significantly helped reduce the morbidity and mortality of NCDs and promoted inclusive health. "Moving Towards What Matters."
