Overview

The Lake of the Ozarks Convention & Visitor Bureau (LOCVB) was first called the Lake of the Ozarks Improvement Association in 1932. Over the years, the name was changed to the Lake of the Ozarks Association, and shortened by many as simply, Lake Association. In the early 1980’s, the official name was changed to Lake of the Ozarks Convention & Visitor Bureau. The LOCVB is supported by a membership of 650+ businesses in the tri-county region and through a portion of tri-county lodging tax. The LOCVB has a staff of 11 full time staff and seven part time staff members working to benefit the Lake Area businesses by increasing the number of people visiting and relocating to Lake of the Ozarks. LOCVB uses an integrated marketing approach to sell the Lake Area as a travel destination, which includes direct sales, sales blitzes and telemarketing, advertising and direct mail, tourism and convention industry trade shows, boat, sport, and travel shows, Internet promotions on Funlake.com, e-mail blasts, websites, and e-newsletters, Vacation & Service Guide, Lake Life publication, Restaurant Guide, public relations and press tours, and familiarization tours.
