The Laguna Beach Police Department is made up of 127 employees. Of that, 100 are full-time employees, 56 sworn officers & 44 professional staff members. Additionally, approximately 10 Police Explorers, 15 Citizen's on Patrol Volunteers, 40 Animal Shelter Volunteers and over 300 Community Response Team Volunteers support our operations. The Laguna Beach Police Department believes in community-based policing philosophy, which follows, the principle when communities and law enforcement engage in transparent communication and mutual cooperation, the community as a whole is better served. As a result, personnel are involved in all aspects of the community, including schools, neighborhoods, businesses, visitors and community organizations.
