Overview
The Department of Machining and Manufacturing Technologies is a part of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Žilina (UNIZA). UNIZA was founded on 1 October 1953 in Prague as the Railway College, later it was renamed and in 1960 the Transport College with its three faculties was moved from Prague to Žilina. It has undergone many transformations, and in 1996 the name of the University of Transport and Communications was changed to the University of Žilina in Žilina. The studies are focused on the field of production machining (turning, grinding, milling, ...). Department also works on the research of additive technologies on the bases of metal, composite, plastic material).
