KMOU is the very first national university founded after the nation's independence. Starting as the first national institution for higher maritime education and training in Korea, we have graduated over 50,000 maritime experts contributing enomously to lifting up Korea's maritime power notch to the top international level. Korea Maritime University is emerging as "a global maritime-specialized university leading the advanced maritime nation", which has been well witnessed through the visible achievements and outcomes in the research fields of marine natural resources, shipbuilding, maritime technology development, marine environmental protection, marine biology and so on. The fact is also obvious through remarkable achievements in nurturing maritime human resources in the areas of shipping & maritime transportation, marine engineering, logistics, maritime trading, and global research. We are now expanding our business abroad by educating overseas human resources to solidify our status the global leading maritime university in the world. Founding University of AMFUF (Asia Maritime & Fisheries Universities Forum) Board Member of WMU (World Maritime University) Project conducted for training maritime professionals for Cambodia, Myanmar and Malaysia Building networks with around 700 alumni throughout 26 countries
