Overview

Our vision, which began 10 years ago, was to establish Klosters as a first class musical location in both winter and summer with the aim of creating a sustainable season in summer as well as winter in our beautiful alpine location. In July/August 2017, a committed and hard-working team of people, both board members & volunteers, created Klosters' first summer music festival which was a huge success and received outstanding critical acclaim. Encouraged and highly motivated by the success and the positive economic impact of the inaugural edition on Klosters and the region, a dedicated team is now in the middle of the preparations for the second edition of the Klosters Sommer Music Festival. This year's Klosters Music Festival will take place from 27th of July to the 4th of August 2018 under the artistic leadership of David Whelton (former Director of Philharmonia Orchestra London). Highlights will include some of the most prestigious Swiss and international artists of our time: Steven Isserlis, Paavo Järvi & Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, Nikolai Lugansky, Julia Lezhneva & The Basel Chamber Orchestra, Christian Tetzlaff, Tanja Tetzlaff, Lars Vogt and Maurice Steger & La Cetra Baroque Orchestra Basel. A whole range of other events will also be presented alongside the evening concerts: matinees, pop-up concerts and the very popular open-air tent concerts.
