Overview

Kelly's Cause is a charity dedicated to improving the mental health and wellbeing of the hospitality industry. Kelly's Cause was set up in honour of Kelly, an exceptionally talented chef, who sadly took her own life at the age of 23. Kelly did not die simply as a result of working in hospitality but we believe the harsh conditions workers in this industry face contributed to her suicide. Founder and chef, Tobie-Anna Durk, was a close friend of Kelly's after training together at Le Cordon Bleu. Tobie-Anna did not want Kelly's death to be in vein. In 2019 she set up the foundation with the mission of creating a mentally healthy hospitality industry for all through the provision of Mental Health First Aid training, awareness raising and education. We are committed to changing hospitality for the better, to prevent others from experiencing what Kelly did.
