Overview

Kansas Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (KSAND) is the state's largest organization of food and nutrition professionals. It is one of 53 affiliates of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND), formerly the American Dietetic Association. Founded in 1938, KSAND is committed to improving the health of Kansans and supporting the profession of dietetics. Registered Dietitians (RDs) and Dietetic Technician, Registered (DTR's) are leaders and experts in the field of food and nutrition, engaging in research, education and advocacy to promote ethical and science-based nutrition and dietetic policy, practice and standards. The value of the the dietetic profession is promoted among members through partnerships with the KSAND Foundation, state districts, practice groups, other organizations and sponsors. Our mission is to empower members to be the food and nutrition leaders in Kansas with a vision to optimize the health of Kansans through food and nutrition. Ongoing professional development, innovative business practices, and engagement in nutrition-related public policy further supports this vision for our members and in our communities.
