Kalema is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to providing free online training to teach people how to respond to a mental health crisis and ultimately help prevent suicide. Kalema draws on the expertise of many disciplines, including medicine, public health, pharmacy, computer science, education, and visual arts. Licensed medical professionals curate and peer-review our content to ensure that the public benefits from accurate, lifesaving information about the warning signs of suicide, the necessary response steps, and when to involve others. Together, we are working toward de-stigmatizing mental health and raising awareness about suicide and suicidal ideation.
