Overview

KBHFF is a volunteer-based food cooperative that sells ONLY DANISH and ORGANIC fruits, vegetables, and other foods DIRECTLY delivered by the local producers and for a CHEAP price. Vegetables and fruits are mostly sold in bags of 5-8 kg and 1-2 kg, respectively. The composition of the bags varies according to the seasons and includes around 6 different types of vegetables and 2 types of fruits, respectively. A bag of vegetables costs 100 dkk (13,40 euros), and a bag of fruits costs 50 dkk (6,70 euros). But vegetables and fruits are also available as retail products (løssalg) in most departments, with usually up to 12 different types. They are sold along with other foods such as Danish and organic - flour and grain (7 different types!), - marmelade, - honey, - oil (canola usually), - and sometimes vinegar, apple juice, cider, etc. Our 8 departments in Copenhagen are open only on Wednesdays, and the hours vary slightly. See our departments here: http://kbhff.dk/afdelinger/ KBHFF contributes to protecting the environment and providing people with high quality and cheap foods. Our producers are usually not only organic according to the regulations, but also biodynamic, which is a step further towards a sustainable agriculture. With several hundreds of members that make it all possible, KBHFF sells around 300 bags per week. At KBHFF, we have a high sense of community. We often organise events and workshops. Each member contributes by working around 3 hours every month for the association (a "shift"). Tasks to perform vary a lot and can either require your presence in the departments or just behind your computer (communication, IT, and organisation). You can also give a hand at a central level, either in a working group or at the warehouse where we receive the products directly from the farmers. You can also be the driver or co-pilot that distributes the products to the local departments. Your choice! More information on the shifts on our wiki. kbhff.wikispaces.com
