Overview

Let us introduce you with something new, it's Bangladeshi and invented by a Bangladeshi scientist. This invention is something that is badly needed on these days as plastic pollution is rapidly bringing some horrible consequences to the environment all over the world. Therefore a substitute or better to say the ultimate alternative to conventional polyethene is been developed in Bangladesh and the person who has invented this environment-saving biodegradable polymer is Dr Mubarak Ahmad Khan. Thanks to him for inventing JUTE POLYMER- one of the best ever gifts for humanity. Dr Mubarak Ahmad Khan, presently working as scientific advisor of Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation (BJMC) and former Chief Scientific Officer of Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission. What is Jute polymer? Well, It seems to Poly Bag but in reality, the bag is made by jute cellulose and it has a similar strength of polythene bag that is 100% eco-friendly, recyclable and will be amalgamated with soil within 3 - 4 months. Main chemical ingredients are Jute cellulose and binder (biodegradable). Jute holds about 72% - 75% cellulose and 50% - 55% could be extracted. Use? According to Dr Mubarak Ahmad Khan, the product could be used in garments packaging, food packagings like cover ice-cream, rice, sugar and even dairy milk. They have tested for a long time to find any quality change and contamination but there was no contamination or quality problem. That means the bag is not harmful to human health. What about the price? Don't worry about it, cause the price of the product would be less than or similar to the conventional polybag but not more than bioplastic polybag. As the polybag will be made from jute and Bangladesh is the number one exporting country of JDP. So, it will able to get the challenge of cost leadership in the international market.
