The JFS Mission Jewish Family Service strives to enhance the quality of life of individuals and families of all ages, faiths, and backgrounds in San Antonio and the surrounding area, through social, psychological, health and educational programs guided by the Jewish values of “repairing the world” and “taking responsibility for each other.” Jewish Family Service has been serving members of the Jewish and greater San Antonio communities for more than 40 years JFS provides affordable mental health counseling, case management, senior services, and victims of crime services to the Jewish and greater communities. JFS is a private non-profit corporation with 501(c)(3) tax status. It offers social work services to seniors and disabled persons at little or no charge to the client. It provides more than 10,000 hours of affordable mental health counseling annually by offering services on an income-based sliding fee scale or accepting third party payment. JFS has locations on NW Military Highway on the north side and Mission Road on the south side. Both locations are accessible by public transportation. JFS is able to offer services through the generous support of individual contributors, the United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County, The Jewish Federation of San Antonio, Methodist Healthcare Ministries, and private foundations.
