Jed Child Trust Foundation is an NGO that is dedicated to making education accessible to all African children. Jed Child Trust since four years of extending helping hands has discovered that millions of African children in their quest for formal and basic education have to study in classrooms with leaking roofs, under shades of big trees and some have to walk miles to school every morning. Jed Child Trust started as a youth initiative among some undergraduate students who felt the direct impact of the difficulty an African child faces from finding means of sponsoring their education to the quest of making their education productive, and a means of societal development. Jed has grown from an initiative into a foundation known as Jed Child Trust Foundation. The overall educational difficulty of the African child in the rural areas challenged by poverty, poor educational infrastructure triggered the emergence and advocacy of JED CHILD TRUST FOUNDATION (JCTF). Jed Child Trust is primarily concerned with promoting education for all, ending child slavery, abuse and giving the poor, rural, and unprivileged a chance to be educated.
