JBHR publishes historical essays from undergraduates that focus on engaging primary sources and adhere to a standard of writing consistent with a thorough examination of a historical topic. JBHR accepts submissions from undergraduate students at the College of William and Mary, Virginia schools as a whole, and other nationally recognized institutions. In all things, JBHR maintains a commitment to the high standard of excellence set by the William and Mary historical community and contributing to the community of historical knowledge through published works.
