It’s Not Just Dinner is an eight year running relationship and professional development non-for-profit (501c3) that focuses on the power of MEDIC: Mentorship, Education, Diversity, Inclusion and Community. Each founding WBE has had others invest time and mentorship into their businesses, and is committed to elevating other suppliers along their journey. Each of the founding corporate advisors have determined a definition for integrity as it relates to elevating the diverse supply chain as a whole and protect it fiercely. FOR CORPORATE DIVERSITY PROFESSIONALS For procurement, buyers and supplier diversity professionals It’s Not Just Dinner is a critical experience that combines mission with action, and helps truly build relationships — with each other, and with diverse certified businesses they would not otherwise get to know in this intimate setting. Identifying future suppliers, mentees, connections and being able to develop relationships with like minded enterprise professionals happens in rare moments, and the ability to be delivering back to the organization and drive personal growth at the same time is needed in today’s climate. FOR DIVERSE SUPPLIERS The underlying goal is to support other diverse certified businesses in learning to leverage what others consider “disadvantages”. Each event is a mix of relationship development and helping to elevate each diverse business owner, demonstrate value without selling through relationships and the network, and how to leverage the certification with intention.
