The Clinical Institute Villa Aprica is a general hospital fully accredited by the Italian National Health Service which started its activity in 1912 and since 1988 it has been a part of the Gruppo Ospedaliero San Donato. The Institute occupies an area of about 13,000 square meters located in Como, on the hill of Monteolimpino. "Villa Aprica" is located in the highest part of an amphitheatre overlooking the lake and completely sheltered from the north winds by the Cardina Mountain. A charming, strategic and convenient location to reach: just a quarter of an hour from the center of Como, it is also easily accessible from the highway. The hospital is equipped with all main specialties and adopts a patient-oriented organizational model with the aim of meeting three important needs: personalization of care, fine quality and use of sophisticated technology support, efficiency and security of care provided. The Clinical Institute Villa Aprica is a center of excellence and point of reference in the territory of Como for Orthopaedics, Urology, Ophthalmology, Video laparoscopic Surgery and Pain Therapy. With an aim of continuous improvement of the care process and the efficiency of its services, in 2007 the Institute obtained the UNI EN ISO 9001: 2000 Quality Certification for all its activities while, at present, the management system for the quality of the Institute is certified according to UNI EN ISO 9001: 2008.
