ISTE was founded in the year 1967 with a mission to advance for the cause of education in general and all its function which pertain to engineering and allied branches of engineering and technology, architecture and town planning, management, process of teaching and learning, research, extension services, and public relations in particular. ISTE Students' Chapter of GECT now has a strength of 2417 members. The Chapter takes a keen interest in helping its members interact with eminent personalities from various fields of technical education to demonstrate their creative talents. ISTE Students' Chapter of GEC Thrissur bagged the Overall Champions trophy at the 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th,13th,14th,15th and 19th Annual State Students' Convention of ISTE Kerala Section held at different colleges across the state. The Chapter also bagged the Best Students' Chapter Award in ISTE Kerala Section during the academic year 2008-09 at the 12th Annual Students' National ISTE Convention held at Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, Sathyamangalam, Tamilnadu on 3rd and 4th October, 2009. These achievements stand as a testimony to the working of the chapter within the college. The Students’ Chapter proudly added another feather to its cap by hosting the 11th State Annual Convention VAIBHAVAH’12 on 7th, 8th, and 9th September 2012. Our chapter, once again proved its mettle by winning the title of Best Students’ Chapter for the year 2013-14 and the overall championship at the 13th Annual State Level Convention held at Mar Baselios College of Engineering and Technology on 29th and 30th of August 2014 with maximum number of participation. ISTE Students’ Chapter of GEC Thrissur is very dynamic and vibrant which is evident from its various accomplishments. YUKTHI’14, the project expo held on 7th and 8th of August 2014 attracted innumerous audience from various colleges and schools from all over Thrissur.
