Overview

The Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE), was founded in 1981 at New Delhi by a group of eminent HVAC&R professionals. ISHRAE today has more than HVAC&R professionals and Student-members. ISHRAE operates from 50 Chapters and sub Chapters spread all over India and 3 chapters outside of India, with HQ in Delhi. It is led by a team of elected officers, who are members of the Society, working on a voluntary basis, and collectively called the Board of Governors. In the era of industrial growth in the country, Pune had emerged as an important growth centre for Air-conditioning and Refrigeration industry. The Pune Chapter was established on 2nd April 1993 with the support of senior members like Mr. Arvind Surange, Mr. R P Paranjpey, Mr. Uttam Kashid, Mr. Bhagwan Harani and others. Initially the chapter started with just 20 members. Mr. Bhagwan Harani who was actively associated in formation of chapter took over as the first secretary of the chapter.
