In times of exceptionally massive and uncontrolled propaganda, citizens have lost the right to dispose of relevant and accurate information in order to be able to make valid decisions in their own interest. One of the most illustrative examples of this limitation is intervening in the right to vote in democratic elections through subtle methods of propaganda and misinformation or semi-information. The media are losing confidence, and parallel to this process there is a massive drop in confidence in institutions and a drop in voter turnout around the world. On the other hand, corruption and organized crime, as well as problems in the sphere of the rule of law, are increasing, and hence the inequality between the citizens in Macedonia and around the world is rising. The United Nations for the latest development goals has accepted the struggle for equal opportunities, and the reasons for the growing inequality lies in increased corruption. The Association "Investigative Reporting Lab - IRL - Skopje" aims to increase the influence of critical journalism, thus helping citizens to obtain accurate and relevant information about the situation in the field of corruption, crime and the rule of law, and through interdisciplinary collaboration with the academic community, technology experts and social media users.
