Overview
The Irish Centre for Human Rights at NUI Galway is one of the world's premier university-based institutions for the study and promotion of human rights, humanitarian law and international criminal law. Since its establishment in January 2000, it has developed a global reputation for excellence in the field of human rights teaching, research and advocacy. The Centre's international reputation attracts high quality students to its acclaimed Masters programmes and builds a thriving community of doctoral researchers. They have come from diverse cultural, educational and experiental backgrounds. They have passed through the Centre and gone on to equally diverse careers, pursuits and places. Many others have also returned, for a number of reasons and in a variety of capacities.
