Overview

Iowa State University Police Department works in partnership with members of the community to make ISU a welcoming and inclusive environment in which to learn and work. ISU Police recognizes the importance of reaching out to marginalized communities and other populations that may not have had positive experiences with law enforcement in the past. Getting out and making lasting, positive relationships requires more than just going to events and being present. ISU Police officers make a concerted effort to fully engage with the community through meaningful discussions on topics such as hate crimes, police response to bias incidents, and mental health; participating with student organizations and other special events, and providing support and resources that enable students, faculty and staff to be successful. For ISU Police officers it’s not about making a difference, it’s about being the difference.
