Overview
ICA supports more than 3,000 people each year who are making Greater Victoria their new home. ICA provides the support and tools immigrants and refugees need to reach their goals by providing language instruction, translation, mentoring, employment and housing support for immigrants and refugees. We also engage the community to help newcomers and long-term residents connect across diverse cultures to create a welcoming community. ICA hosts arts events, leads workshops on anti-racism, multiculturalism, diversity awareness, immigration and human rights, and provides the local community with information about issues related to immigration in Canada. Founded in 1971 as an organization to produce the long-running multicultural arts festival, FolkFest, ICA has evolved over the years to encompass many different strategies for the creation and support of a welcoming community for newcomers to Canada. ICA welcomes your support as a volunteer and donor. Contact us at www.icavictoria.org
