Insurance Council of Zimbabwe

Overview

ICZ’s roots date back to 1962 when insurers held meetings to discuss general insurance business issues. The Association started operating formally when it formed the Fire Prevention and Inspection Bureau of Rhodesia in 1963. The Association developed into representative and advocacy body for the short-term insurer and reinsurers in Zimbabwe to lobby for the formulation and implementation of laws and policies that provide a conducive operating environment. Members further mandated ICZ to administer special risks insurance pools on their behalf.
