The Institute of Research and Training on European Affairs- I.R.T.E.A. is a leading and innovative Think Tank in Greece and Europe focused on bridging the gap between the academic knowledge and the society, politics and business world. I.R.T.E.A. operates in Athens, Greece, where it holds its office, to support not only the society in Greece, but also its consultative status to the European Parliament and policy making role at the European Institutions. Major goal of I.R.T.E.A. is promoting structured and open dialogue between the civil society and EU officials and fostering civic engagement. Strategic Pillars of Activity 1st Pillar: Economic and Entrepreneurship Policies 2nd Pillar: Youth and Educational Policies 3rd Pillar: External Relations, Security and Defence Policies 4th Pillar: Environmental and Sustainable Development Policies 5th Pillar: Social and Humanitarian Policies The activities of I.R.T.E.A. under the respective Strategic Pillars focus on the following principles: – fostering civic engagement – strengthening youth participation – bringing EU Institutions, legislative Procedure and Policies closer to its basic stakeholders, EU citizens by a range of actions – organizing and implementing awareness rising and informational campaigns promoting our goals – producing and disseminating policy papers – promoting structured and open dialogue between the civil society and EU officials
