Quick presentation: 309 collaborators working in 27 research groups; 10 state-of-the-art facilities (animal facilities, PRISM imaging platform (IBiSA), cytometry, histo-pathology, etc..); 400+ Publications in leading international journals; Collaborations with leading private companies. Scientific focus and breakthroughs : The institute addresses broad scientific questions in the field of cell signaling involved in cell and tissue growth, LR asymmetry establishment, lipid modifications, cell-matrix interactions, adipocytes differentiation, sex determination, kidney development, non-Mendelian genetics, stem cells, epithelial morphogenesis, cell polarity, trafficking, neurogenesis, physiology, cancer and cell migration. Overall, iBV groups use a variety of model organisms including Drosophila, yeast, mouse, nematode, zebrafish and mammalian/human cell lines. Both in terms of biological questions and models, iBV provides a strong, diverse and interactive environment.
