Overview

 ILSCA – where disputes are resolved The idea to establish the Centre for Arbitration and Mediation titled the Indian Law Society’s Centre for Arbitration and Mediation (ILSCA) was put forward on the 3rd December 2016 before the Governing Council of the Indian Law Society and the GC members decided to adopt the idea. Indian Law Society planned a separate building for placing the ADR related activities in one place. Construction of the building along with finishing the state-of-art interior arrangements appropriate for smooth conducting of Arbitration and Mediation was completed by the end of December 2019. The actual operations of the Centre commenced in the beginning of January 2020. However, the activities of ILSCA could not take a good start as it got caught in the rigmarole of COVID 19 since March 2020. But, in spite of all adverse contingencies ILSCA, has already established a track record for providing top-notch arbitration services to the business community, in Pune and around. The Indian Law Society’s Centre for Arbitration and Mediation (ILSCA) is a first-of-its-kind ADR institution in India attached to a law college - ILS Law College, a premier institution in the country, acclaimed for providing quality legal education with a prodigious history of nearly 100 glorious years. As a sister institution of the Indian Law Society, basic objective of setting up ILSCA is to support and build up the efforts of the ILS Law College in providing out of the usual run of things training in law, contiguous with conventional legal education. ILSCA proposes to conduct training programmes in various methods of Alternative Dispute Resolution Methods, like Arbitration, Mediation, negotiation etc., through webinars, certificate programmes, and diplomas.
