Overview

iGi is the online incubation program started by Marvelous Inc. and supported by Game BCN, the program which has successfully been incubating talented indie game development teams for 6 years. In order to back the growth of Japanese indie game developers, mentors of game developers like “Edelweiss” who developed “Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin” and specialists in various fields related to games industry not only advice on game development but also support in many ways like knowhow of promotion, media strategy, multilingual support, necessary adjustment to various laws and contracts, training of a pitch (a brief presentation about games) for stakeholders and so forth. Also, we are looking for enterprises, organizations and individuals who support this program so as to build industry-academia-government collaboration with educational institutes and governmental agencies. Some game-related companies have already offered to sponsor and support the program. The program is free of charge. 5 selected teams will attend this half-year program from June through November. The program will accept applications from mid March 2021. Marvelous has been supporting indie games via game publishing.
