Established in 2009, the Horatio Alger Association of Canada (HAAC) pays homage to acclaimed author Horatio Alger Jr., whose inspiring narratives of triumphing over adversity through grit, determination, and ethical values resonate with our core principles. The HAAC recognizes and honours remarkable Canadians who, through their exceptional achievements, personify the endless opportunities afforded by the free-market system. We proudly induct these inspiring role models as lifetime Members of our Association, reinforcing the powerful message that success is accessible to all individuals devoted to integrity, diligence, resilience, and altruism. In addition to recognition, we provide crucial scholarship support to deserving young Canadians. These scholarships are aimed at those who have demonstrated a formidable spirit in overcoming adversity, show promising academic potential, and possess an ambition to make a unique and meaningful contribution to society.
