Overview

Hope Australia Soccer Academy is a non-profit initiative which provides soccer training by Brazilian former professional players aimed at migrant and refugee children living in Melbourne’s Casey-Cardinia region. This initiative is believed to be the first of its kind in Australia. HASA is sponsored by the Australian Government Department of Social Services and is supported by Football Victoria. In addition to providing pathways and disciplines for successful futures, it aims to help address issues of isolation and loneliness that may be faced by migrants and refugees through the language of soccer, the most popular sport in many of Australia's migrant communities.
