The Coaches’ Association is a not-for-profit organisation responsible for recruiting and accrediting young coaches from north-western Sydney and providing them with professional coaching opportunities. It conducts junior cricket clinics during the school holidays and development programs in the off-season. HKHDCCA was formed in 2010 and has experienced significant expansion in recent years, now being one of the largest providers of junior cricket coaching and development in NSW. In 2018-19, HKHDCCA conducted 14 separate coaching programs with generous Coach / Player ratios, achieving a total attendance of 938 children. Our Head Coach is Level 3 accredited, plus we have 8 Representative (Level 2) coaches and 12 Community (Level 1) coaches. The feedback from parents, clubs and players is always outstanding, with many highly positive testimonials received. The Coaches’ Association designs and implements coaching programs aimed at increasing the cricket participation, skills and enjoyment of boys and girls aged U/6 – U/16, including beginners, club players, representative standard players, disadvantaged groups, and children with special needs. It is run by hard-working volunteers and the fee structure is subsidised to ensure that all families, including those with several children, can access the popular coaching services. In addition to the significant impact HKHDCCA has had on the cricket development of thousands of junior cricketers, the Coaches’ Association provides a wonderful opportunity for young men and women to take up coaching to develop their leadership, organisational and communication skills, and put back into the sport, being excellent role models for young boys and girls to participate actively in organised sporting activities, thereby promoting healthy lifestyles and leisure activities.
