Founded in 1991 by Department of Sport and Leisure, Hitt Húsið is a youth centre that aims to support young adults aged 16-25 year old. Today it runs diverse programs in the fields of culture, art, counseling, and leisure activities for young adults with disabilities. The main objectives of Hitt Húsið are to: - Provide young adults with facilities and assistance in implementing their own ideas. - Reflect the culture of young adults. - Provide information and guide young adults to the appropriate professionals and organizations when needed. - Strengthen the position and employability of young adults in the labor market. - Be a place for social resources and consultation for young adults.
