Overview
Historic Beverly's mission is to make the extraordinary history of Beverly, MA accessible to everyone. We have been preserving and caring for Beverly's past since 1892 - a process that involves the stewardship of an extensive library and archive of nearly a million objects and documents related to Beverly and the surrounding North Shore community, as well as the preservation of three historic properties - The Balch House, The Cabot House, and Hale Farm. This rich history spans five centuries and we engage our community through exhibitions, research, educational programs, events, publications, and tours (both in-person and virtual). We inspire our community to engage with history, so we can strengthen knowledge and perspective. Our work engenders curiosity and understanding - the building blocks of a comprehensive education program that embraces diversity, highlights cultural heritage, and informs Beverly’s future. Join us for summer concerts and events at Hale Farm, visit the Cabot House for our rotating exhibitions, make an appointment to do research in our collections, or book a tour of our historic properties. Many of our programs are also available virtually on our website. Become a member!
