Overview

The Hispanic Baptist Convention of Texas (HBCT) consists of over 1,200 Hispanic Baptist congregations in Texas. The congregations are as varied as the landscape of Texas: from people who have been Texans for generations and speak only English, to first generation immigrants, to multi-ethnic congregations, CBHT is currently developing pastoral peer groups through its Conexión Pastors initiative. It also focuses on increasing the graduation rate of Hispanic and under-served students through the Baptist General Convention of Texas' Hispanic Education Initiative. CBHT continues to be faithful to its initial core mission of partnering with others to share the hope of Christ and the reality of that hope as it nourishes the spirit, mind and body of Texans. HBCT has enjoyed a long partnership with the Baptist General Convention of Texas.
