Overview

HERBS-APLENTY® started in 1993 with a small nursery and herb products on Bien Donné, Franschhoek. Lavender was the first commercial crop planted but this soon grew to a variety of crop types with new focus on indigenous South African herbs. Over the years with extensive R&D the company has grown into a multidisciplinary entity. In 2003, the mother business was unbundled into HERBS-APLENTY®(PTY)LTD CAPE ESSENTIAL OIL SERVICES(PTY)LTD and GOEDGEGEWE FARM. We started the establishment of herbs crops on GOEDGEGEWE FARM in 2003, with biological farming principles and have since also been organically certified. We have continued with essential oil crops but also introduced a greater variety of dried and medicinal herbs to our repertoire. We have expertise with designing and hands-on experience with farm project planning and management. We also collaborate with selected commercial farmers and because it has become a passion, the farm is managed according to biological farming and organic principles. We can tailor our message to the audience ranging from farm workers to board members. We develop innovative processing solutions for clients in the high-value agri-processing sector. Our specific experience lies in the essential oils, dried herbs, and herb-plant extracts for the fragrance and flavour, pharmaceutical and neutro-ceutical, beverage and natural botanical industries. We have been involved in various agricultural projects for individuals and corporate clients.
