Overview

The first Helsinki International Ballet Competition took place in 1984, and since then the competition has been arranged approximately every fourth year. Today the IBC Helsinki is one of the most highly regarded international ballet competitions. The IBC Helsinki is a one-week professional journey of artistic and technical excellence for young, talented dancers from all around the world. The competition has two categories: junior dancers from age 15 to 19 and senior dancers from age 20 to 25. The program consists of both classical and modern repertoire.
