Help India Breathe

Overview

India is facing a catastrophic second wave of Covid-19. This is a tragedy like no other. There is an acute shortage of hospital beds with assisted breathing equipment and ICU ventilators. Help India Breathe is an initiative started with colleagues here in the UK. Many of us work in the technology sector and have watched helplessly over the last few weeks as the Pandemic hit this vibrant country. We have one simple aim - mobilise effective hi-tech emergency Covid-19 supplies on a NOT FOR PROFIT basis to hospitals involved in the care of covid-19 patients starting with assisted breathing devices developed during the UK Ventilator Challenge and open source innovation by like-minded not for profit colleagues. Use of Funds: We are fundraising to provide essential assisted breathing devices to communities across India that have been impacted by this crisis. We are also working at sourcing 2000 oxymeters and handheld temperature scanners for charities working on the ground in rural areas. We have partnered with Janvikas - www.janvikas.in . The amazing team at Janvikas led by the inimitable Kirti Joshi would be in charge of on- ground deployment and training of medical and paramedic staff. The team are already doing exceptional work for Covid-19 relief for communities across India. Our ambition is to also work with ICU Ventilator partners starting with the Boston based team behind The Ventilator Project. https://theventilatorproject.org/
