The Health Facility Monitoring and Accreditation Agency, HEFAMAA was established by the Health Sector Reform Law of 2006 with the mandate to amongst others set the required minimum standards for the operations of public and private health facilities in Lagos State as well as accredit, inspect, monitor and license all health facilities. With the recent launch of Lagos State Health Scheme, HEFAMAA has been given the responsibility of providing facilities that will be empaneled on the scheme by Lagos State Health Management Agency using some strict eligibility criteria.
