Hawker Star was founded by a group of Vietnamese and Singaporean friends in 2020 and incorporated as Cong Ty Tnhh S2P, a limited liability company with foreign investments. The founders believe the sharing of good food brings the world closer together, allows people to share their joy, and creates bonds and memories. Hawker Star is a pioneer company in Vietnam in introducing and popularizing the Singaporean Ice Cream Sandwich (Kem Kep Singapore). “Kem kep” is a traditional street food that holds dearly in many Singaporeans’ hearts, a food that many grew up eating and encapsulates the fond memories of people. Therefore, Hawker Star is passionate to share this special Singaporean treat to people in Vietnam and hopes it can similarly be a symbol of love and joy in Vietnam. The name “Hawker Star” - Hawker is a name for street food vendors, and is represented in the company logo by a Buffalo (representing the Vietnameses) and Lion (representing the Singaporean), symbolizing the friendship and partnership of Vietnameses and Singaporeans serving in unity. Star is a common symbol in the national flags of both countries, and is represented in the company logo as the Guiding Star embraced by the Buffalo and Lion to give common identities and to guide the company with shared values.
