Overview

In October 2018, Hart Bageri opened its doors in the Frederiksberg neighbourhood of Copenhagen. To unanimous acclaim from local and international media, over five-hundred people queued to experience what was immediately called “the best” and “most exciting” bakery in the world. English-born Richard Hart, formerly head baker of San Francisco’s Tartine, opened Hart Bageri in partnership with Noma’s René Redzepi. Together with his international team, which includes acclaimed pastry chef, Milton Abel II (Noma, French Laundry, Per Se), Richard has created his take on the local neighbourhood bakery, and a place to share the bread and pastries that they love to bake for friends and guests. Drawing inspiration and influences from around the world, the bakery reflects the varied upbringing and travels of the Hart team, as well as the traditions of their newfound home here in Denmark.
