Hanford Sand and Gravel, Inc. started out with Preston [Sr] and Iris Hanford having a dream of starting a business that would grow and prosper with the surrounding communities throughout the Sacramento Valley. This dream came true in 1973, when Preston [Sr] and Iris Hanford started Hanford Sand and Gravel, Inc. as a local topsoil and sand supplier in Wilton, CA. Years went on and in 1981, Preston [Jr] and Diane Hanford started Hanford Ready Mix, Inc. in Elk Grove, CA. Both companies did great and in 2005 Preston [III] Hanford took over operations of Hanford Sand and Gravel, Inc. and added a Ready Mix division in Roseville, CA. selling ready-mixed concrete and other related items.
