Overview

Mission: Translating data into cures. Vision: To build a cooperative network of patients, physicians and hospitals to democratize clinical trial access and revolutionize drug development Guardian Research Network is a non-profit healthcare organization building the next generation network of clinical trials and molecular testing platforms. Guardian Research Network has launched a Healthcare IT Ecosystem to engage patients, physicians, and hospitals to support commercialization opportunities in health care. By using real-time EMR data feeds and a clinical trial focused patient engagement website, we have linked healthcare systems that to date encompass 76 hospitals across 9 states, on a path to eventually include over 140,000 new cancer patients each year. For the first time, Guardian Research Network has taken the challenge to integrate all parts of the patient record, including free text variables in physician notes, detailed next gen molecular sequencing, radiological and pathological images, laboratory results and patient questionnaire feedback. Additionally, Guardian Research Network has created a federated tissue bio-specimen resource that is coupled with this deep, longitudinal clinical data to enable basic biomarker research. Guardian Research Network will realize the full potential of the community healthcare system to innovate the next generation of high-tech and high-value healthcare products. This new national resource will enable rapid, “on demand” clinical trial accrual and revolutionize drug development. For more information, visit our website at www.guardianresearch.org.
