Overview

Our Mission; GTTN was officially registered as a non-profit society in 2014, and was established to address the most pressing issues related to national comprehensive socioeconomic development, by leveraging the pool of intellectual, financial, social, and industrial capital, by bringing together industry, academia, and government (triple-helix framework). Initially housed at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), as an independent, non-partisan policy research, and advocacy center, GTTN quickly grew in scope and leveraging NUST human and physical capital, successfully grew in to an influential think tank for the nation. As part of its restructuring we moved offices in 2018 and narrowed our areas of research to specialize on security, economics, and the climate change and the environment as the three most pressing issues of our time. Leadership and Governance: In order to fulfill its mandate, enhance impact, and build a regional constituency for sustainable socioeconomic development GTTN works with and through an extended and diversified network of local, national, regional, and international partner organizations. Effective partnership management is central to GTTN in achieving its strategic goals while also providing a feedback loop to enable GTTN to evolve continually as a vibrant organization that responds to emerging regional needs and priorities. Establishing effective partnerships is pivotal to GTTN as an interface between research and development and to link science to policy and practice on the ground. GTTN partners with a wide variety of institutions, including strategic and policy partners, operational and research partners, development partners, and knowledge, science and network partners. Working together with regional and international partners. GTTN is committed to bringing about transformative change in the region by improving the environmental conditions and livelihoods of the citizens of Pakistan and the region.
